Trail System
Lakes for fishing, a canoe/raft launch, 9 km of hiking trails along the Red Deer River and in the hills above the river basin, and picnic tables throughout the park available for public use. For runners, hikers and biking enthusiasts, the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area is part of the Waskasoo Park System in Red Deer and is connected by asphalt trails to 3 Mile Bend off-leash park, and beyond on the trail system to Bower Ponds, Great Chief Park, and at the end of the trail Heritage Ranch.
Cross Country Skiing
In winter months the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area is Central Alberta’s premier Nordic Sports Centre, with 15 km of groomed cross-country ski trails ranging from 1.4 km to 5 km in length. Put one ski in front of the other while being surrounded by the beautiful scenery the river valley offers.
