DISCOVERY CANYON
Come visit one of Red Deer's hidden gems!
Discovery Canyon is a seasonal park that has a natural river-fed water pool, a recreational park and playground, a concession and washrooms.
Discovery Canyon Park is free to the general public, however tube rentals are done through a bracelet system and are $7/ person. The lazy river is ideal for children 5-14 years of age. Suggested weight maximum of 200lbs.
Our opening and closing date is completely dependent on weather, however be the first to know by checking our website.

Important Parking
Information for
Discovery Canyon
Parking at River Bend can be challenging on hot summer days, due to the popularity of Discovery Canyon. When the number of vehicles exceed our parking capacity, it creates 2 significant concerns: unsafe traffic and parking conditions, as well as overcrowding within Discovery Canyon.
Effective Saturday August 8th, parking will no longer be permitted along the entrance road.
Once all designated parking lots have reached capacity, Discovery Canyon will be considered full and no additional visitors will be admitted.
We understand that many guests travel to visit Discovery Canyon, and we appreciate your understanding that admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you arrive and find that it is at capacity, we encourage you to explore one of the many other excellent aquatic and recreation facilities that Red Deer has to offer. including the Collicutt Centre, G.H Dawe Community Centre. or one of the city's many splash parks.
For the best experience and to avoid the largest crowds, we recommend visiting Monday through Friday.
